Locksmiths History

To begin with, lock and keys came in to being and people were aware from their features before the birth of Christ. In the older days, locks were made up of wood. They were in larger in size and the design, lay out was also crude in nature. Very little bit attention used to give while manufacturing locks and keys. Firstly, a mechanical lock came into being at the place of Nineveh.

Large number of people started making use of it in the place of Egypt. Movable pins were utilized to lock and unlock the door. The Greeks apply wooden bolt and staple into the door to make it open. But these techniques provide little or no security, protection to the people. Later on, improvements started! The industry of locks and keys started making advancements in this sector.

Romans introduced the first metal lock which is similar to the principles of Egyptians. It consists of the keys and key holes designed in the best possible way. Ward locks were also launched by them. The purpose of this device is that it does not allow the entrance of any person until and unless proper key gets inserted into the hole of the key. Different designs of keys initiated by the Romans like that of the bird, rings and flowers. They also set up a court where particular workers are going to be trained for this task.

In the 14th century, locksmiths started getting a lot of attention and notice by the world. And even now they are in great demand. They install and repair the locks. Security devices are being maintained by them. They open the locks and swap the old keys efficiently and effectively. Mechanics, technicians and experts are being getting skills in this area to bring out the best results.
