Niche markets are talked about often in Internet marketing circles. We are told that if we find a niche market we can make big bucks online. So every budding entrepreneur goes out looking for the “pot of gold” a niche market. The question remains can you really make money online this way?

Well yes, you can make money online if you find a niche market and it is the first step to starting a business on the Internet. However not everybody will make money working a niche market. Firstly you need to know exactly what a niche market really is.

A niche market is a specialized market with high demand and low supply. What do we mean by this? Simply put this type of market must have a good number of people looking for products and services within this field.

Find your niche market:

First you will need to find one of these specialized markets. This is not hard. You can look up popular products in Clickbank and Amazon.com. Look for their top 10, then dig down and find the top 10 products in those categories. You will have a good idea about popular demand and supply.

Do your research:

In order to make money in a niche you must do your research first. If the market is high in demand and low in supply you know that you can capture the market and have a chance to make money. There should be a large number of searches for keywords in this field. Secondly there should be less people offering products and services to this market. When you look up keywords in Google you should not find too many websites with offers. If you do the niche is saturated and your chances of making money much less.

Analyze your market needs:

Once you have found your niche it is time to do some market analysis. You need to find out what problems the people in your market are facing. In this way you will find out about their needs and wants. Then you can come up with solutions to those problems and fulfill those needs.

Find products and services for them:

There are three ways that you can do this.

You can create your own. If you are a writer or can offer a service in this market it is easy to create your own info product, writing service, or other service to fulfill a need.
You can join a reputable PLR site and get new products every month for your market needs. There are many such sites and again you should do your research to find out the worth of their products. Just look up PLR sites in Google and many will come up. They usually offer products in popular special markets. You can adapt these for your niche.
Affiliate programs: you can find affiliate programs in your niche or just supplement your own products with these. They are free to join and easy to sell. You do not have to hassle with payment processors and actual selling of the product. You are in fact just the salesman and you will get a commission on every sale that is made through your link.
Create your website: in order to make money online it is necessary to have a website. You can get a template from your hosting C panel, design your own or have a design done for you. However you do this be very sure that your website looks professional and is easy to navigate.
